INA Section 248 (8 US Code Section 1258) requires the beneficiary to be in a lawful non-immigrant status to begin with, before their status can be changed. In order to be granted a change of status into a non-immigrant status like H-1B, TN, or R-1, INA § 248 requires the beneficiary to be in lawful non-immigrant status to begin with; DACA is not considered a lawful non-immigrant status.
After you receive your initial Provisional Sales Associate (PSA) license, you’ll need to complete Post-Licensing requirements within the first year. The month that a license is issued in counts toward the one year license term regardless of whether it is issued on the first day of the month or the last. This means you’ll have 45 more hours of education requirements after receiving your PSA. Upon completion, you’ll need to submit a new application requesting the change from PSA to Sales Associate (SA). Think of the PSA as the first tier of being an Oklahoma real estate agent, while SA is the second.

Oklahoma does not have a formal reciprocity arrangement with any other states, but there are ways out-of-state agents can speed up the Oklahoma licensing process. The Oklahoma Real Estate Commission requires that out-of-state agents complete Oklahoma-based courses on Ethics, as well as a course on professional contracts and forms. Applications (and subsequent fees), background checks, and submitting your license history will be part of the administrative approval process. Agents should learn as much as they can about reciprocity in Oklahoma to streamline the application process.
